The International Iwate Collider School (ICS2022) will be held in Appi ski resort near Morioka in Iwate, Japan from March 21 to 26, 2022. The school is organized as an edition of the KEK-IINAS school series, and hosted by Iwate University. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the school will be held in a hybrid form.
During the school, students will learn a variety of topics in collider physics via lectures and tutorials for event simulation. Long lunch break for skiing and discussions are planned. We have invited experts in collider physics around the world as lecturers:
Rikkert Frederix (Lund, Sweden)
Benjamin Fuks (Paris, France)
Olivier Mattelaer (Louvain, Belgium)
Hitoshi Murayama (Berkeley / Kavli IPMU)
Marco Zaro (Milan, Italy) etc.
NOTE: The above lecturers will give their lectures remotely in the late afternoon ( = early morning in Europe); see [Program] for more details.
Thanks to the support by KEK-IINAS, Iwate U., JSPS grant and Iwate Prefecture International Linear Collider Promotion Council, there will be no registration fee, and local expenses will be covered.
We look forward to hosting the new generation of young researchers (both theorists and experimentalists) who will play a central role in particle physics in the coming decades!
Organizers:
Kaoru Hagiwara (KEK)
Daniel Jeans (KEK)
Fabio Maltoni (UC Louvain / Bologna)
