DESCRIPTION:QUPosium2022\n\nWe are delighted to announce that the 1st Inte
rnational Symposium on Quantum-field Measurement Systems for Studies of th
e Universe\, Particles\, and Other Applications (QUPosium2022) will be hel
 d in Tsukuba\, Japan\, from December 12th to 15th\, 2022. The science prog
ram will start in the morning of December 13th. The registration desk will
open in the afternoon of December 12th\, with welcome drink and light sn
ack.\n\nScope of the symposium\n\nQUPosium2022 aims to bring together rese
archers in particle physics\, astrophysics\, condensed matter physics\, me
asurement science\, and systems science.\n\nThe symposium will be a place
to share the most exciting topics in these fields\, discover overlaps in m
ethodologies\, and discuss how we can integrate our efforts for producing
new academic and social values. \n\nKeynote speakers will introduce big qu
estions and methods to address them in their research areas. \n\nInvited t
alks will cover some cutting-edge research results and new directions.\n\n
We also plan to have a session for QUP's inauguration and another to intro
duce research activities/plans at QUP.\n\nThis symposium is open to resear
chers and students in related fields. There is no registration fee\, but r
egistration is required beginning September 1 (banquet participation is ch
arged).\n\nParticipants are encouraged to present posters of their own res
earch. Posters will be displayed around the conference venue throughout th
e conference and will be accessible from the timetable web page.\n\nInvite
 d Speakers including：\n\nDmitry Budker (Mainz/UC Berkeley)\n\nJiangfeng
 Du (USTC)\n\nEiichi Egami (Arizona)\n\nTim Gershon (Warwick)\n\nAndreas Ho
ecker (CERN)\n\nAtsuko Ichikawa (Tohoku)\n\nNoboru Kikuchi (Genesis Resear
 ch Institute/Toyota Riken)\n\nAndrei Linde (Stanford)\n\nLudovic Montier (
 IRAP)\n\nHitoshi Murayama (Kavli IPMU/UC Berkeley)\n\nYukinori Nagatani (K
 EK)\n\nJennifer Rocca (JPL)\n\nHiromu Sakai (Waseda)\n\nDouglas Scott (UBC
 )\n\nYannis Semertzidis (IBS)\n\nSuzanne Staggs (Princeton)\n\nAmy Trangsr
 ud (JPL)\n\nSemir Zeki (UCL)\n\n \n\nAbout QUP\n\nQUPosium2022 is hosted
by the International Center for Quantum-field Measurement Systems for Stud
ies of the Universe and Particles (QUP.) QUP was newly founded as a center
at KEK in December 2021.\n\nIt is the 14th World Premier International Re
search Center Initiative (WPI\,) promoted by the Ministry of Education\, C
ulture\, Sports\, Science\, and Technology (MEXT.) QUP's goal is to establ
ish "quantum field measurement systemology.”\n\nTo this end\, QUP will i
nvent and develop new systems for measuring quantum fields\, bring innovat
ion in cosmological observations and particle experiments\, and discover t
he true nature of space-time and matter.\n\nIt will also cultivate applica
tions to various academic fields and social implementation.\n\nSee https:/
 /www2.kek.jp/qup/en/ for more information.\n\n \n\nhttps://conference-indi
