The first joint meeting among ISSP/IPMU/KEK theory groups. The theme is "theta=pi" in field theories, and its relation to spin systems.
There seems to be recent new understandings of physics at theta=pi by using new techniques in numerical computations in field theories. We start with the reviews of how the ground state at theta=pi in 2d field theories has been understood in the past, and discuss its relation to 4d Yang-Mills theories. The recently proposed techniques to simulate theta=pi physics and their results will be presented.
Guest invited speaker: Katsumasa Nakayama (Riken)
