赤外線、X線、ガンマ線をはじめとする光子、電子、中性子、分子、イオンなどの量子線を検出・解析する科学技術は、素粒子・原子核物理学、宇宙物理学、物質科学から生命科学、医学に至るまで、幅広い分野の発展に重要な役割を果たしてきました。近年、これらの分野におけるイメージング検出技術は飛躍的に進展しています。同時に、理学と工学の融合や産官学の連携も深化し、新たな研究領域や応用が次々と生まれています。
このような背景のもと、分野を横断して「量子線イメージング（Quantum Beam Imaging: QBI）」をテーマに議論し、科学技術の発展と新分野の創出を目指す研究会を発足しました。本研究会では、最新の研究成果や技術の共有、異分野の研究者間の交流を通じて、新たなアイデアや共同研究を促進することを目的としています。
本研究会には、大学院生を含む若手研究者、各分野の第一線で研究開発に取り組む研究者、研究グループを率いるシニア研究者など、幅広い層の参加を期待しています。また、大学や研究機関に所属する研究者だけでなく、実用化や社会実装に取り組む産業界の研究者・技術者の参加も歓迎します。
発表では、各分野における最先端の成果を共有するとともに、それぞれの分野に固有の原理や技術、ノウハウに基づく新たな応用の可能性を探り、異分野との共通点や連携の可能性を見いだすことを期待しています。聴衆には、物理学の基礎を理解しているものの、必ずしも発表分野を専門としていない方が含まれます。この点をご考慮いただき、研究の背景や基本原理について必要な導入を加えてください。また、関連分野への応用が期待される場合には、その可能性についても簡潔にご紹介ください。
多くのみなさまからのご発表とご参加を心よりお待ちしております。なお、学生による優れた発表には、優秀発表賞を授与します。

Technologies for detecting and analyzing quantum beams—including photons ranging from infrared light to X-rays and gamma rays, as well as electrons, neutrons, molecules, and ions—have played essential roles in a wide variety of fields, from particle and nuclear physics, astrophysics, and materials science to life science and medicine. In recent years, imaging and detection technologies in these fields have advanced rapidly. At the same time, closer integration between science and engineering, together with growing collaboration among academia, industry, and government, has opened up new areas of research and application.
In this background, the Quantum Beam Imaging Workshop was established to provide an interdisciplinary forum for discussing “Quantum Beam Imaging (QBI)” and to promote scientific and technological progress as well as the creation of new research fields. By sharing the latest research results and technologies and encouraging interaction across disciplines, the workshop aims to foster new ideas and collaborations.
The workshop welcomes a broad range of participants, including graduate students and early-career researchers, researchers actively engaged in cutting-edge research and development, and senior researchers leading research groups. Participation is encouraged not only from universities and research institutes but also from industry, particularly researchers and engineers working toward practical applications and real-world implementation.
Presentations are expected to share state-of-the-art results, explore potential applications based on principles, technologies, and expertise developed in individual fields, and identify common ground and opportunities for collaboration across disciplines. Since members of the audience may have a general understanding of the underlying physics but may not be specialists in the particular field being presented, speakers are kindly requested to provide the necessary background and an introduction to the basic principles. Where relevant, a brief discussion of potential applications in other fields would also be greatly appreciated.
