Voices of past participants

Muflikhah, National Research and Innovation Agency

The 14th AONSA Neutron School / the 9th Neutron and Muon School at J-PARC MLF-Japan were an outstanding learning experience that strengthened my understanding of neutron and muon science through well-structured lectures, insightful facility tours and highly valuable hands-on training. The opportunity to interact directly with experts and instrument scientists helped clarify many of my questions and inspired new research ideas relevant for future research/ proposals. I am committed to sharing the knowledge gained to support the growth of neutron and muon research in Indonesia. In addition to the academic benefits, the event fostered networking and meaningful friendships, and the committee, staff, lecturers, and instrument scientists demonstrated exceptional professionalism and hospitality throughout the program.

The lectures by the invited scholars were very insightful and greatly enhanced my understanding of neutron and muon science. The tours of MLF and JRR-3 provided a clear overview of the neutron sources at both facilities. The inelastic neutron scattering experiment on BL23 also allowed me to gain further knowledge of incoherent neutron scattering, which broadened my understanding of the diverse applications of neutron-scattering techniques in different fields. I learned a great deal from Yokoo-san and Ikeuchi-san’s detailed instruction and their exemplary scientific rigor. Overall, I think the organization and management of this neutron and muon school were excellent.

The Neutron School at J-PARC was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely friendly, the accommodations and meals were comfortable, and the organizers kept us well informed with clear daily emails and schedules.
I especially enjoyed the outdoor activities—biking around the J-PARC area was a fun and relaxing way to connect with other participants. Combined with the excellent hands-on training at BL23 POLANO, the school provided both strong scientific learning and a very caring atmosphere.
I highly recommend the program to anyone planning to apply in the future.
