Description
In relativistic chiral matter, the generation and dissipation of axial charge compete with each other. Although the axial charge relaxation time is a key quantity characterizing such systems, it is usually treated as a phenomenological constant, and perturbative methods are not applicable at strong coupling. In this study, we investigate the axial charge relaxation time in a strongly coupled plasma using the gauge/gravity duality. Employing the D3/D7 model, we analyze the quasinormal modes of the chiral magnetic wave (CMW), a collective mode of vector and axial charges, and extract the relaxation time from its dispersion relation. We focus on the dependence of the relaxation time on the charge density for massless quarks.
