Step 1. Tokyo Station --> Akihabara Station
First, take a JR (Japan Railway) train, called "Yamanote Line" going toward Ueno or Ikebukuro at Tokyo Station (4 minutes, 140 JPY).

NOTE You can take a JR Keihin Tohoku Line also, which goes to Omiya Station but it also stops at Akihabara Station, your destination. |
Step 2. JR Akihabara Station --> Tsukuba Express Line
Get off the JR train at Akihabara Station and move to Tsukuba Express ("TX") Line.
Step 3. Akihabara Station --> Tsukuba Station
Take the TX Line bound for Tsukuba Station at Akihabara Station (50-70 min., 1,190 JPY).
Step 4. Tsukuba Station --> Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal
Get off the train at Tsukuba Station (the last station) , and get out of the Tsukuba Station (underground) . Then move up to Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal.
Step 5. Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal --> KEK
Get on a Local Bus bound for Tsukuba Mountain (the bus called "Hokubu Shuttle", 20 min., 300 JPY).
Step 6. Arrive at KEK
In approximately 20 minutes, you will be at KEK.
